USBMenu · Last updated October 4, 2026
The short version
USBMenu does not collect, store or share any personal data. Everything it shows stays on your Mac.
What the app reads
To show its list, USBMenu reads information about connected USB devices from macOS: device names, vendor names, USB vendor and product IDs, serial numbers, serial port names and, for USB network devices, their IP addresses. This information is shown in the menu and is never saved or sent anywhere.
The app saves a few settings on your Mac, such as whether to show USB hubs and whether to show the welcome dialog.
What the app doesn't do
- No internet connections
- No analytics, advertising or tracking
- No accounts or sign-in
- No data shared with the developer or third parties
